Cuisine at SALT of Palmar is focussed on local ingredients and big flavours. Good food is an integral part of Mauritian culture, and this is reflected in the delicious dishes that can be sampled at this hotel. The Good Kitchen serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and offers an extensive menu showcasing the best local produce, with some excellent vegan and vegetarian options to try. SALT Bakery meanwhile offers homemade bread and tempting pastries, along with home-roasted coffee served all day and night. Guests can enjoy a cocktail at either the pool bar or the beach, but a real highlight is the rooftop bar, offering stunning views of the crystal-clear lagoon below.
SALT of Palmar offers unique experiences and activities. Guests have the opportunity to connect directly with locals via a Skill Swap, where they can share their talents with a local professional, or learn a new skill from a passionate local, such as painting, basket weaving or soap making. Another highlight of the hotel is their innovative spa, where guests can choose their treatment duration and customise a treatment with their therapist based on their individual requirements. Each treatment is rounded off by a session in the Salt Room, where guests are invited to relax and breath in the Himalayan salt vapours to help boost immune system and energy levels.

SALT of Palmar is such a unique property. I loved the homely atmosphere and the fact that everything is either made on site or sourced locally. The resort has a clear focus on sustainability and social responsibility, which was great to see. I very much enjoyed lunch at The Good Kitchen, where there is an amazing range of dishes on offer, including a selection of vegan options. I am not personally vegan, but the flavours were incredible and this has definitely inspired me to try more vegan options. I think my favourite spot within the resort was the rooftop bar, where you can enjoy delicious cocktails overlooking the white beach and stunning turquoise waters.
