Set on a quiet, peaceful stretch of beach on the southwest coast of Praslin Island, around 15 minutes’ drive from the airport, Coco de Mer is an intimate Seychelles hotel that offers guests comfort and seclusion. Taking its name from the unique Coco de Mer palm tree that can be found in the nearby forests, this newly renovated property is built on extensive grounds with breathtaking views of the surrounding islands, forested mountains and Indian Ocean. The hotel’s junior suite wing, The Black Parrot Suites, enjoys a particularly enviable setting on a rocky outcrop overlooking the sea.
As well as a selection of bars, guests at Coco de Mer have a choice of two restaurants, Mango Terrace Bar & Restaurant and the Hibiscus Restaurant, which offer international and Creole inspired cuisine, along with stunning views and evening entertainment.
Coco de Mer offers bicycles and a free shuttle bus service so that guests can access the many small beaches that form part of Anse Bois de Rose Bay. The hotel also has two swimming pools, one in the shape of a Coco de Mer and the other, located at the Black Parrot Suites, with panoramic views over the ocean.
A highlight of Coco de Mer is the luscious gardens that are home to mango and papaya trees, wild flowers and a host of birdlife. The hotel’s Waterfront Spa is also well worth a visit, offering stunning views and a range of treatments with locally sourced essential oils to promote a sense of tranquilly.

Coco de Mer has a quite and relaxed feeling from the moment you walk into the reception area. Everything about it is gentle and the staff are amazing, which is probably because some of them have been there for 20 years! Lunch at Hibiscus was delicious and the setting, right over the sea was beautiful.
